Kristi and I invest a good deal of our leisure time in learning endeavors. Investing in learning shouldn’t stop, even after your biological clock has been ticking for seven decades. Recently, we were watching a documentary on Isaac Newton. Newly released biographies serve as opportunities to learn something on a familiar subject. Newton is worthy of investigation simply because he established modern standards for all rigorous scientific inquiries conducted today.
In this latest biography on Newton’s life, the authors made the assertion that Newton was very interested in what they termed: “mysticism.” In doing so, the filmmakers seemed compelled to concede that this interest of Newton’s was incongruent with the fact that he was the father of modern scientific methods. In their discussions of “mysticism,” the script writers provided what must have seemed at first glance, to be a logical explanation at least in their own minds, of why a person with an incredible record of producing profound insights like Isaac Newton, might be interested in “mysticism.” Ultimately, the explanation was that back in Newton’s era, The boundaries between science and faith, were not nearly as “clearly defined” as they are now.
We paused the film after this segment to take a few days to contemplate the idea of “defining” these so-called “boundaries between science and faith,” both hundreds of years ago, and now. In doing so, we considered the fundamental mathematical implications that have completely discredited most of the popular current time frames associated with proteins “evolving” into astonishingly complex organisms. We also considered 70 years of failures by modern laboratories to “create” even very simple living organisms. And finally, we thought about the 2022 Nobel Prize Award for Physics and the irrefutable proof of a complete disconnect between “cause and effect” behaviors at the particle level in laboratory experiments. With three Nobel laureates separately confirming the “inexplicable nature” of Quantum Entanglement and corresponding irrelevance to space or time at the quantum level, we found these so-called boundaries the filmmakers referred to as an illusion.
With these overwhelming hurdles facing this film segment regarding the current status of science, and despite all of the amazing inventions linked to advances in science, we wondered if the authors of the documentary on Newton’s life, realize they never provided any specifics whatsoever. The new “locations” of these so-called changes in the “boundaries,” that were cited to simply shrug off Newton’s curious behavior with the label “mysticism” are modern day myths. The Nobel Committee itself in 2022 conceded that the boundaries between philosophy and physics have been erased by their physics laureate’s findings associated with Quantum Entanglement.
Isaac Newton was not fascinated with “mysticism.” He was fascinated by the repeated foretelling in ancient scriptures of the arrival of Jesus, as well as the profound accuracy of His teachings. Through more than three dozen parables and countless miracles, Jesus managed to change human history against all odds. These facts are the reason why Newton understood that the foretelling of Jesus’s birth, death, and resurrection were a watershed series of events in human history. And it is these facts that prompted Newton to engage in prayer and study ancient scriptures relentlessly. This new documentary ignored the fact that Newton attributed all his amazing contributions to modern science as being, “The direct result of answered prayers.”
While the great Isaac Newton concluded it was implausible that the astounding circumstances surrounding Jesus, were all simply mere, “coincidences,” still, the producers of this documentary lauded his genius, while dismissing the evidence he honored as some sort of illogical obsession with “mysticism.”
It should come as no surprise that Albert Einstein’s findings regarding Quantum Mechanics in general and Quantum Entanglement in particular mirrors Newtons insights. After decades of exhaustive efforts to provide an explanation of the “properties” of Quantum Entanglement, Einstein effectively threw up his hands regarding all his scientific and intellectual efforts saying, “Anyone who is serious about the pursuit of science will reach the conclusion that there is some spirit manifest in the universe that is superior to man.”
Again, just as Newton did, Einstein addressed the huge problem with suggesting human beings can more precisely DEFINE “boundaries” between faith and science today. It was Einstein’s contention 90 years ago that the boundaries have not been made clearer. Instead, they are far beyond the human capacity to define. Quantum Entanglement was Einstein’s smoking-gun evidence of this reality.
Some might say, well, that was Einstein 90 years ago. What about today with all the new technologies at the disposal of mankind?
Recent interviews with a broad range of physicists confirm that Einstein’s assertions regarding the baffling nature of Quantum Entanglement remain intact. In fact, recent laboratory proofs have solidified the deepening of these profound mysteries. In a nutshell, 21st century physicists are just as baffled by the complete lack of causes-and-effects associated with the behaviors of entangled particles now proven in the labs, as Einstein was when these truths were merely well-reasoned theories.
Yet it was Moses who reported the cause-and-effect connection thousands of years ago. Moses reported that when he asked what he referred to as, “The God of Abraham,” what his name was, the response was profound. “I Am That I Am,” was the unequivocal response.
This explanation can easily be interpreted using basic linguistic methods in combination with common sense. It is a short yet all-encompassing explanation. “I Am That I Am,” means this: The Creator was NOT “created.” He made it clear he did not come about as part of some sort of mystical abstract concept that was part of the machinations of the imaginative minds of human beings, who were simply looking at the world and the cosmos and “wondering.”
As the Creator of the great mystery of “life,” and the rule maker of all physical properties of the entire universe from galaxies to particles at the QUANTUM LEVEL, our Creator simply explained the basics to Moses, so Moses could repeat these basics to the people. The Creator is just that. He transcends both SPACE and TIME. He is both the beginning and the end. He is the “Alpha and the Omega,” which are the first and last letters in the Greek alphabet. This is what “I Am That I AM,” means.
So, while human scientists can do extraordinary things with new technologies, they cannot reconcile the time frames associated with the origin of life, nor can they explain how Quantum Entanglement works.
It turns out a pertinent explanation for defining the BOUNDARY between faith and science in human terms is very simple: “We aren’t what aren’t.”
