Jim Spence

Jim Spence is the founder of the asset management firm, Spence Asset Management, Inc. The firm was selected from over 300 hundred firms as National Midcap Manager of the year for 2011 by Emerging Manager Magazine based on performance and service.

Since retiring in 2021, Jim has remained active managing the Spence family accounts as well as assets held by an irrevocable trust and JKS Foundation to support Christian philanthropy.

Not long after retiring Jim wrote the script for an eleven-part documentary film series for JKS Foundation’s parent organization Petri Dish Foundation. The series is entitled, “Answering the Great Question.” The film series connects the latest scientific facts which provide powerful evidence of the validity of both the claims and teachings of Jesus Christ.

Jim also records podcasts and writes investment commentaries. This unique content is posted right here on this website.

Jim enjoys wearing t-shirts with corny puns, growing fruits and vegetables in his garden, playing with his grandkids, and catching trout at rivers and lakes.

Jim and Kristi Spence-

Teamates Since 1978

Jim and Kristi were college sweethearts before marrying on June 3, 1978. Their daughter Renee (1981) lives in Beaverton, Oregon with husband Evan Thurm. Their son David lives in Las Cruces, New Mexico with wife Mary and their children.

The Spences are business-oriented people. They view their primary mission since retiring from the competitive world of business as one that involves helping develop young people as they prepare to continue the process of Kingdom Building. The Spences do their best to engage in Kingdom Living every single day in accordance with the final segment of their film, “Answering the Great Question.”
